What software did I install after reinstalling the system? — A record of reinstalling the system on my Naruto laptop

I have been using this Fire Shadow Notebook T6A for nearly a year, and recently I decided to reinstall the system on a whim. The process of reinstalling the system is something everyone is familiar with; this article's focus is not to teach you how to reinstall but to record the software and settings needed after reinstallation, hoping to provide some reference and help for friends with similar needs.

1. Preparations Before Reinstalling the System#

Before you start reinstalling the system, be sure to back up all important data, such as documents, photos, and videos. It is recommended to use an external hard drive or cloud storage (like Baidu Cloud or OneDrive) for backup to prevent data loss and ensure everything is secure.

2. Selecting Boot Options#

  1. Insert the boot USB drive: Insert the PE boot USB drive (I used FirPE) that has the latest original Windows 11 image written to it into the notebook's USB port.
  2. Restart the computer: Click restart to prepare to enter the boot selection interface.
  3. Enter boot selection: Quickly press the F7 key when the computer starts to bring up the boot option selection menu.
  4. Select USB boot: Find the boot disk in the list and press the Enter key to confirm the boot.

3. Installing the System#

Before starting the reinstallation process, I want to remind everyone: during the installation process, the system will automatically format the drive you choose to install to. This means that all data on that drive will be cleared and cannot be recovered. Therefore, please be sure to back up all important data, such as documents, photos, and videos, before proceeding with the system installation. You can back up this data to an external hard drive, cloud storage, or other secure storage devices. Only after ensuring data safety should you proceed with the system installation.

  1. Enter PE environment: The computer will boot from the USB drive and enter FirPE (a lightweight boot environment based on Windows PE).
  2. Run the installation program: In the FirPE environment, find and run the system installation program.
  3. Select installation options: Follow the prompts of the installation wizard to select the image to install, installation location, partitions, etc., so easy.
  4. Wait for installation to complete: The installation program will automatically install the Windows 11 system; the entire process is very fast, a foolproof installation.

4. Installing Drivers#

After the system installation is complete, the first step is to install drivers; otherwise, display issues and other problems may occur.

  1. CPU and GPU drivers: Go to the official websites of the CPU and GPU (such as Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD) to download and install the latest version of the drivers.
  2. Bluetooth driver and accompanying control center: Next, visit the notebook manufacturer's support website (such as the official Fire Shadow Notebook website) to download and install the Bluetooth driver and accompanying control center software.

5. Personal Application Installation and Recommendations#

Here are some software and tools I have selected and installed based on daily needs, covering efficiency, entertainment, and system optimization, hoping to provide some reference.

System Optimization Tools#

Compression Tools#

  • NET Framework: Install commonly used .NET runtime libraries to ensure that applications developed based on the .NET framework can run normally, providing support for stable software operation.
  • Microsoft Common Runtime Libraries: Install Microsoft's common runtime libraries to ensure that the system can support various software and tools developed on the Microsoft platform, ensuring software compatibility.

Browsers#

  • Chrome: A widely popular browser with fast browsing speed and rich extension features, capable of meeting various internet needs of users.
  • Running Cheese Firefox: An optimized version of Firefox by Running Cheese, a green version, compact, fast-running, suitable for users who like the Firefox browser.

After installation, log in to your account to sync settings, maintaining a consistent browsing experience on the new system.

For the Edge browser, you can set sync items as shown in the image below:

  • Readest: Readest is an open-source eBook reader designed for immersive and deep reading experiences, compact and lightweight.
  • NeatReader: A PDF reader focused on eBook reading, supporting various formats, with a user-friendly interface and comfortable reading experience.
  • PDFGear: A lightweight PDF processing tool that supports viewing, editing, and converting PDF files, simple and convenient to operate, suitable for users to perform simple PDF processing, meeting basic PDF modification needs.
